You might have seen a lot of people on internet with highlighting quotes like “Stay positive” Or “Be grateful for your life” But frequently this is not the case. No one could really stay optimistic (positive/ hopeful) all the time and actually this is most disliked feeling ever. Being pessimistic (hopeless/negative) is believed to create bad vibes and cynical surrounding, indeed that is. But
And that’s why that’s not true everytime.
The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true.”
Pessimism can more beneficial than optimism in situations where you are waiting for news about an outcome and there is no opportunity to influence the outcome (such as waiting for the results of a job interview).
In one study that followed students throughout their university years, those who were defensive pessimists experienced significantly higher levels of self-esteem compared to other anxious students. In fact, their self-esteem rose to almost the levels of the optimists over the four years of the study according to the university of Sheffield.
By measuring the average gap between forecast and realisation, researchers were able to measure levels of optimism. They found that pessimists – those whose forecasts did not match their realisations – earned 30 per cent more than optimists.
People with cynical mind underestimate themselves and expect few good things for themselves which never make them feel disappointed and they’re tend to work with lead them to work with more preservation and focus. Every achievement they made is never enough to make them satisfied and hence they never stop working.
They’re frequently tend to expect the negative outcomes of things and therefore if the conclusions turn out bad that doesn’t shock them anymore and therefore there’s no time wasting in thinking what to do next. Even though they’re less happier than optimists they’re tangled to the negativity which makes them easier to handle stress and it’s easier for them to cope with it. They dwell on negativity but also tackle with it which makes them more brave and smart to go through any kind of situations.
Pessimists are visionary. They create scenarios in their head and thus try to make things better before they turn worse and prepare for any kind of consequences. These is how Pessimism helps.
But on the other side, it is so difficult for a pessimist to involve in a relationship,
